In the Southern Tier of New York, winter has come (no matter what the calendar says). We had snow squalls on Tuesday and just a miserable day on Wednesday. Now, it's warming up, and should be in the 60's F today, but that all is just temporary.
On Monday, spouse and I decided to head to the Susquehanna River. On top of a floodwall, I shivered and we watched as the sun sent its farewell to us.
The sun kissed the horizon.
The sun has left the building. Some might say this is not an amazing sunset. The clouds are too low. But that's what clouds do here at this time of year. This year, though, we've had an unusually sunny November. But this is more our norm.
It's interesting watching the colors change, with the bare trees silhouetted against the sky.
Last picture before I'm too cold and head back home.
Now that I quit shivering, I'm joining up with Yogi and other sky watching bloggers for #SkywatchFriday. Come join us!
...the trees make wonderful silhouettes.
ReplyDeleteWow - fabulous series of shots!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a fine sunset! Clouds too low? It's different from all the other sunsets, isn't it? No Skywatch for me today, my computer is broken (a cat was involved), and my sky photos were there. Don't ignore your computer scientist son when he says to back things up! No new skies, it's been cold and grey and wet and miserable out.
ReplyDeleteWe've been getting winter weather, too. (Of course, what winter means for us is much different than what it means for you.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these beautiful sunset photos. Wishing you a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite times of day are sunrise and sunset, when everything is a black cutout against the flaming sky. I LOVE these pictures, Alana!
ReplyDeleteSuch serenity in those pictures, hope we can look forward to feeling as serene (or even close) as that sky looks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for braving the cold to capture these outstanding sunsets!!
