Symphony in Yellow #ThursdayTreeLove

It's the last of the fall foliage so I'm going to give you a selection this morning.  For some reason, the yellow trees have waited till last.  I believe most all of these are maples.

I know this one is a Norway Maple.

Maybe this is, too.

Because I'm only working part time (and from home) during the pandemic,  I was able to adjust my work schedule to allow me to sit in my backyard.

Monday, during an unseasonable warm spell, I looked up at clear blue skies and maples (our neighborhood is one of the last to turn color) a glowing yellow.  The bees were nearly gone. Occasionally one bee came to check out my heuchera, the last plant blooming in my backyard.

Beyond my fence, I heard squirrels scuffing the leaves, looking for goodies to be stored.  I saw one within my fence, jumping back and forth.  Another ran up and down a tree.  I tried to get a picture.  I don't think this one worked.

But the foliage sure is nice.  And now, wind and rain has brought most of the leaves down.  But the memories remain of when the trees showed their true colors before going to sleep for the harsh winter.

  2. Beautiful. There simply is nothing more restful to me than the peaceful study of trees and sky. The peace just seems to flow...

  3. Looking out my window today - the ailanthus trees in my building's courtyard were gold-leafed a few days back, now what's left is just brown and soggy. I'm so glad I went for that walk last weekend (btw I did respond to your comment on that post with my story about how I ended up in the neightborhood I'm in).

  4. Very pretty. The yellow looks nice against the bright blue sky. The rain knocked most of the leaves off trees in my neighborhood too.

We often see yellows last in our area, too. These trees are beautiful and brilliant. :) Have a glorious day!
