If you want bright sun and warmth, you shouldn't go to the Southern Tier of New York in December.
Sometimes, the sky teases us with a brief band of blue.
Sometimes, the sky just seems to sulk. It misses its friend, the sun.
Sometimes, the road seems so long.
It seems to go on forever.
Morning fog hides the sun, but it gives some color to the sky.
And finally, as the afternoon wanes, I look at the trees framing the sky, and realize the sky isn't sulking, but just resting up after a hard year's work. One day, it will be sunny again.

...I ike the one looking down the road.
ReplyDeleteBare trees against a cloudy sky are beautiful in their own way.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!
There you go again with my favorite, bare trees silhouetted against the sky in nearly black and white! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that even sulky can be beautiful. It was actually sunny yesterday, a beautiful day here, but today is dark and cold and snow is supposed to be on its way.
ReplyDeleteI had a favorite skirt as a child--bare tree branches against a pink and blue sky.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. My husband was just telling me that a special star, like the star of David, is due to appear in our Christmas skies.
ReplyDeleteAlways beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI guess everyone needs a rest now and then! LOVE the pictures, especially the one with the road. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery moody. I like it.
ReplyDeleteIt can get dreary to have day after day of cloud cover. But it is a nice thought to think of it as a rest.
ReplyDeleteThe skies many moods... great post!
ReplyDeleteLooks sky for spooky movie.

Great sky shots! Some days I see the sun but it's gone before I get my coat and shoes!
ReplyDeleteLovely moody shots. We've had zero hours of sunlight this month.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy these dark moody skies.
ReplyDeleteYou know I like like bright blue sunny skies and I love dark gray moody sulky skies also. I take them all. Except ice storms, tornadoes, hailstorms, and hurricanes. You can have those.
