The rain let up here in New York State for several days, until it returned yesterday with a bad thunderstorm. Of course, it could have been worse. No flash flood (at least that I know of), no downed trees in the neighborhood (that I know of - but, to the west of us, they weren't as fortunate), and at least 1500 people lost power to our west. Again, we lucked out.
What I do have is some wet day lily flowers.
Don't you like these frilly lilies? There's something about wet day lilies and (these were actually from last week's wet spell) I'd like to show you some of their beauty.
Fresh out of the shower, ahhh.
This was one of my favorite shots. The plant in the lower left with the white border, incidentally, is pineapple mint.

I never tire of your daylily photos! I have a similar one to your Purple Rain, Grape Magic. Isn't pineapple mint lovely? Mine took a beating in the heat a few weeks ago, but it'll be back. I love it chopped on fruit salad.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. Wow, what great shots.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Love day lilies so much. I'll feel so sad to see them go.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The flower from the second image is quite spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen such flowers!
Thank you and Happy WW!
Very pretty day lilies.
ReplyDeleteAlana your day lilies are beautiful and even more so with rain drops on them. Lady's Mantle looks pretty with rain drops on them too .. I think it is the hair like substance on the foliage that catches it just so. Funny how we can have certain plants in our gardens for so long and forget their names but not how beautiful they are ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe could use some rain.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Lilies are gorgeous, especially when adorned with dew or raindrops.
ReplyDeleteHave a fine day, Alana!
I love the different faces of the lilies💗Great pictures! Pawkisses🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteThe day lilies look lovely. I agree, raindrops do look lovely on flowers.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look absolutely beautiful. I like the way the rain makes them look like they were just taken care of and cared about.
ReplyDeleteYour lilies are dazzling and I love the name Purple Rain; takes me back to Prince's song. :)
ReplyDeleteRaindrops and dew have a certain stunning indescribable effect for sure. <3
