Ahhh, fall.
I know my readers in India and similar places love to see our trees here in the Northeast United States turn color.
Right now, I'm afraid I am going to have to disappoint for this first Thursday Tree Love of October. The way it is looking now, due to a wetter than normal summer (and a disease affecting maples causing the leaves to brown and fall off), our color isn't going to be that great this year.
But on Sunday, I saw some trees in the city where I used to work start to color up.
As far as I'm concerned, fall is Nature's apology for the winter it's about to dish out. Apology not accepted!
Fall color is something we don't have to travel far in order to appreciate. And, who knows, maybe Nature will change its mind and I'll have something better for you next time.
Before I go, I have a "guest photographer" in a rural part of our county, and she sent me this picture taken on Wednesday. Don't you love the reflection of the trees on the water? Enjoy!
Joining Parul of Happiness and Food every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month for #ThursdayTreeLove.
Reminder - Friday, besides SkywatchFriday, I also am participating in Garden Bloggers Bloom Day, so I'll be pretty busy showing you even more beauty. Stop back Friday for (probably) two posts.
My beautiful birch tree has dropped all its leaves, but they never changed to gold this year. I had seen articles online saying this would happen due to climate change, but so disappointing not to have that fall color.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing fall color. We are hoping to see some in Arkansas when we get there tomorrow.
ReplyDelete...you live in a beautiful area.
ReplyDeleteWe’re starting to see color here, too. But I think you’re right, it’s not going to be a spectacular year.
ReplyDeleteI love your take on fall colours! "fall is Nature's apology for the winter it's about to dish out."
ReplyDeletePerfect!
lovely color
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I was in the northeast last year for the color show. It really is spectactular.
ReplyDeleteAw, sorry you won't get the leaves you usually get. Maybe they'll surprise you anyway.
ReplyDeleteBoth photos are beautiful. But yes reflection is amazing.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe

ReplyDeleteFall color is always pretty, even if there is very little of it.:) Has the weather gotten better there?
