It's Time #MusicMovesMe

It's Monday and it's time for music.

Who are the Music Moves Me bloggers? We are bloggers who blog about music each Sunday or Monday and if you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please!)   Our head hostess is Cathy from Curious as a Cathy,  and she is joined by the knowledgeable Stacy of Stacy Uncorked and (last but not least) me.

Why not join our music loving folks?  It's so easy. All you have to do is join the linky above with a music post that contains at least one music video.  Without a music video, the post may be removed, or may be labeled *NO MUSIC*.

Every other week (such as next week) is Free Choice, and on non-free choice weeks, we invite anyone (that means anyone) to suggest a theme.   There are still weeks without themes available for someone to suggest a theme for.  The 2023 themes so far can be found here.

Today's theme was chosen by me, and is: "Time.  Song lyrics or titles mentioning time, or calendars, or days of the week."

So, it's time for music!

Chambers Brothers will start us off, with the long version of their 1967 hit "Time Has Come Today".

From 1961, one of my favorite songs - Neil Sedaka and "Calendar Girl".

From 1966: "Monday, Monday" - The Mamas and the Papas.

The Rolling Stones and an early hit of theirs, 1964's "Time is On My Side".  I never knew until researching this post that this was a cover of a song first recorded by Kai Winding and his orchestra in 1963.

Cyndi Lauper - "Time after Time".

I will end this with another long one (sorry).  I remember either WCBS-FM or WNEW-FM in New York playing the Moody Blues "Tuesday Afternoon" and "Evening Has Come To Pass" one after the other.  Since both songs fit the theme, why not play the combined version?  If you don't have the time for both, Tuesday Afternoon ends at about 5:05.

And that's a timely wrap!

Join us again next week for another episode of Music Moves Me - and, better yet, why not join us?

  1. Cyndi Lauper is so cool. Love the tunes

  2. I thought about including "Calendar Girl" given the direction I went with my song picks but decided against it. Although, it's Monday, Monday I haven't heard Tuesday Morning in a long while which was a nice treat. Thanks for the offer of this week's theme. Your music selections were a joy to listen to. You're a fabulous co-hostess, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

  3. ...the Chambers Brothers' "Time Has Come Today" is a favorite of mine.

  4. We overlapped again. I’m loving the Mamas and Papas.

  5. Time After Time is always a favorite of mine.

  6. Fabulous songs! I knew all but one!
(And Moody Blues was one of my two favourite bands. After CCR, of course!) ;)

  7. That brought back memories, I used to love Time After Time.

  8. Time after Time and Calendar Girl are popular today. I love that you you put the Moody Blues in. They are one of my all time favourite bands

  9. Great prompt, and you picked some great songs!

  10. That long song of the Moody Blues can't be long enough for us, Alana. It's a great one with great memories! We loved this theme and made time to search for our songs😸Double Pawkisses especially for you🐾😽💞

  11. Great song choices. I love the voices of The Mamas and the Papas. Their songs are often on repeat in our home.
