Some quick looks at the sky from this past November. Most of these were taken near my home in the Southern Tier of New York.
Sunset November 7. I almost missed it.
Sky November 17. The creek below should be a lot higher but we are in a drought.
Another view through the trees, November 17.
A sad milestone as today marks the anniversary of President Kennedy, Friday, November 22, 1963, 61 years ago. In some ways, to me (I was in elementary school when it happened), it's almost like it was yesterday. As for today, we are having our first snowstorm of the season. Goodbye, fall. Hello snow shoveling. Maybe I'll go out later and take a picture.
The drought photo is disconcerting. We got rain last night, it’s still raining today. But it’s not enough.
ReplyDelete...I was a senior in high school and I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing! Get your snow shovel ready!
ReplyDeleteWow, your first snow storm. Hope you don't get too much, although it will make for some beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe still have a lot of standing water from the hurricanes. It has no place to go.
ReplyDeleteThank God, we're having much-needed rain in Connecticut. Glad you're getting some precipitation, even an early snow. Love the photos, as always.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you'll get lots of snow to help out with the drought.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the sunset! I SO remember the day! I was in elementary school!
ReplyDeleteWe just got our first snow as well. I love it when it waits until after Halloween. But then the saying "When one is buying a Halloween costume in Canada, one must buy it big enough to wear over a snowsuit" wouldn't be as funny!
ReplyDeleteLovely sunset photo and others too ~ thanks,

I wish we got a little more snow than the nothing we get.
ReplyDeletePretty skies. The first one looks similar to the skies in my area. Stay warm!!
ReplyDeleteA sad anniversary indeed, one that even now makes me contemplate what might have been. The skies in Southeast Texas looked much like your skies today. They have taken on their wintry look.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pretty sky
ReplyDeletesomewhere there's flood...somewhere drought..Nature keeps teasing...
ReplyDeleteLovely skies! We didn't much of a fall showing here due to the drought, but I am hoping to travel a little north of here and see if I can catch some colors.
ReplyDeletelovely sunset. uuuu, start of snowstorms... too early for my liking ;-).
ReplyDeletePretty skies, at least the snow is bringing you a bit of water!
ReplyDeleteIn Chicagoland area we had a snowstorm a few days ago. It all melted by the next day. We both have to get those snow shovels out and gloves and winter coats. I do enjoy the four seasons though. I hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteMy crabapple tree is now bare. We have sunshine and will cling to that. Hugs, Beth
ReplyDeleteThere will be joy in your home and in mine, despite the skies, the weather. Blessings, Beth
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love being in the woods in the summer, I much prefer fall and winter with the leaves being down one can see further and there are lots less people.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that there is less and less commemoration of Kennedy's death as the years go by. In many ways it doesn't seem so long ago.
I dread what is going to happen now with all the bomb threats and swatting of proposed government cabinet appointees.
