Yes, it's Thursday, but I may not be able to comment much tomorrow, so I am posting this today.
This is the next to last Skywatch of 2024. The year has gone by so quickly.
Wednesday was an incredible day - sunny skies and temperatures in the 50's F (10C)A friend took me out to lunch at a diner that has windows overlooking a dam called the Rock Bottom Dam located on the Susquehanna River near its confluence with the Chenango River. This dam has quite a history (some of it quite tragic) but it also makes for a great (safe) view from the windows of this diner. There was once a bridge, too, long gone now.
Oh, did we enjoy the view, and the skies. (My friend, incidentally, calls the diner the Dam Diner).Downtown is on the other side of the river.
A closeup of the dam with some reflections
Now, the cold weather is back and this weekend it's going to get bitter cold. By then, of course, it will be winter, so what do I expect?

50s are a low, not a high. That is a lovely place for lunch. I hope you have a good Friday.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a really nice place, beautiful view.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read "dam" I thought, nope, won't look. I have a "thing" about dams. But, this is barely a dam as I think of them! Nice view during lunch.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! Great place to dined indeed with such lovely views.
ReplyDeleteThe river looks cold.
