Blue Jay Way #WordlessWednesday

A pair of blue jays (a bird native to the Eastern United States where I live) have taken up residence in bushes outside our home.

One day I looked out (sorry for smudges but the window is dirty) and saw one of them perched on the bush.    The white spots are snow and just to the left of the upper snow patch you can barely see the bird.  I know, it's not a good picture.

He or she gave me one last opportunity by perching in the upper right just to the left of a snow patch before flying away.

Can I officially call my home Blue Jay Way?

  2. How fun to see bluebirds. I don't think we have any around here and if we do they are rare to find.

  6. They are pretty birds. Sassy, but pretty. I have scrub jays.

  7. Blue Jays are pretty much constants in my yard. I hear their raucous calls throughout the day and they are frequent visitors to the feeders. They earn their keep in the bird community by warning others of hawks and other dangers.

  8. Very nice! I hate that my camera doesn't take good, clear up close pictures of birds.

  9. That bird was pretty well camouflaged, surprised you saw him. Good try with the photo. I love Blue jays, they're so bossy:)

  11. Occasionally, we'll see bluejays in our backyard. It seems when the kids were little, we saw more. We do get quite a few cardinal sightings and other birds, though. Spring is less than a month away!
