Rabbit Encounter #WordlessWednesday

I've blogged before about the custom of saying "Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit" upon wakening on the first of every month.

Monday was September 1, and I didn't say it.

So, to my surprise, when I went outside a little bit before sunset... 

Before my eyes was a puffed up rabbit.  I don't know much about rabbit body language but I've never seen this before.

It started to run away.

But then, I saw a second rabbit.

For a few seconds they moved closer to each other. 

But then one bounded away, and left me with one rabbit.  

I checked on the couple of veggie plants I have in my yard and none seem to have been nibbled. Whew! 

Perhaps I will have good luck this month, even though I didn't say Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit.
