Summer Ramblings - Travel Flowers

In my various travelings to and from my mother in law who lives some 150 miles away from me (I've been there with my spouse almost every weekend since mid-June and sometimes on Fridays and/or Mondays, too), I look forward to seeing my home flower garden when I return.

This is what was waiting for me after my last commute this past weekend.
These are day lilies glowing in the late afternoon light.  I love how this picture came out - taken, like all my other photos, with my iPhone 4S.
Tall Phlox.
Yellow and Red nasturtiums.
And finally, one more picture of my glowing lilies, this time in a group.

For a minute, all my cares and tiredness washed away, to be replaced by a humble amazement.  (And then it returned, but you can't get everything you want.)

What are your favorite flowers?

  3. These is nothing more perfect than a flower. You've captured their essence so well, Alana. To gaze at a perfect lily like these reminds me of the wonder of nature. Life and death form part of the cycle, and a flower reminds us of this so well.
