Skywatch Friday - Autumn Red

Too late.

On Wednesday, I left my house in upstate New York a couple of minutes late, and walked into the most amazing display of "red sky in morning".

The problem was, I couldn't stop to take a picture.

By the time I was able to take a picture, most of the show had ended, but there was enough left to create a beautiful Skywatch.
For the next few minutes, I stopped and looked.
I love autumn sunrises.

  1. That has happened to me as well. You have to be ready to grab the pictures at the very moment they are happening with the sunrise....sometimes I'm still in my jammies with my coffee and I just can't bring myself to get dressed.

  4. When I used to commute (via the Southern Crescent- preAmtrak) from Charlottesville to DC (I was teaching at George Washington), I loved sitting in the dining car, eating my breakfast, and watching the glorious sunrise appear. (The return trip was often too late to see the sunset...)

  6. Doesn't it suck when there's a great something but you don't have time to take a picture? Well, maybe next time.
