My guest photographer and I took a walk in downtown Binghamton, a city of about 47,000 people, to look at the flowers that were still blooming. Some pictures are hers and some are mine.
Beautiful mums.
Roses and a sweet autumn clematis. In our area, it is generally not invasive.
Beautiful, aren't they? |

The lovely garden by a church where we found the mums.
My spirit has needed a lot of cheering lately. There is nothing better than spending a few minutes with a friend. Even though we know these flowers will be gone in a few days when heavy freezes finally come, it was worth taking one last look.
What did you do today?
Day 12 of NaBloPoMo.
You spotted some lovely flowers. Mums are some of my favorites. Enjoy the season!
ReplyDeleteI went to a travel meetup with a group of people who love to have fun. I felt so much better afterwards. Love your flowers.
ReplyDeleteI worked in the garden. Gardening is always good for whatever ails the spirit.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers! I liked the first pic the most.
ReplyDeleteI spent some time with my garden too (it's a 4x6 plot so I spend time with it, not in it), plus helping out with a workday getting the kayak club ready for the winter.
ReplyDeleteGlad you took the walk and those lovely shots. There is something wonderful about seeing fresh flowers. I find myself very happy to see them first thing in the morning. I did quite a bit. Pottering about in the house generally and trimming my plants , clearing up space in the rooms by sorting old clothes to give away, cooking a special breakfast, and spending time with my 12-year-old. Busy but relaxing day!
ReplyDeleteI loved the flowers! Always love seeing them blooming on lush green trees, but cannot stand anyone plucking those pretty things off! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics..we are blessed with late blooming flowers this year..and I am so happy to see them...somehow the universe knew we needed this...
ReplyDeleteIt's such gorgeous pictures:)
ReplyDeletePretty flowers. And they'll be back in the spring.
ReplyDeleteI am incredibly grateful to have work. So that is what we did Friday and Saturday
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful flowers:-) I took a walk too, but over here it is full autumn... almost winter...
ReplyDeleteI enjoy looking at flowers. It is one thing you can see beauty in no matter what stage of the flowers life it is in.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Love your pictures:)
