Music Monday - Bill Paxton

Actor Bill Paxton died yesterday at the age of 61.  His roles were many and varied, including a major role in one of my son's favorite movies, Twister.

Here are some of his best roles.

I wondered if there were any music videos that Bill Paxton appeared in so I could blog about him today.  Sure enough, I found one, by a group popular in the 1980's called New Order.

Touched by the Hand of God shows a young Bill Paxton and Ray Dawn Chong, daughter of  comedian Tommy Chong.

But it gets better.  Do you remember a song called Fish Heads, by Barnes & Barnes?  (If not, you may not want to watch this.  If you remember the song, you may not want to watch this either.  If you like bizarre stuff, though, definitely watch it.)  Bill Paxton was in that video, too.

Here is some more information about the musical side of Bill Paxton.

RIP, Bill Paxton.  Another actor dead too young.

  1. I do not get upset when stars in their 70's and older pass, but this is too young in my opinion. And the fact that it was complications of surgery with no explanation is disturbing.

  2. I know you refer to music. But, Big Love... now, there was an interesting group of folks. (Training Day only has moments- and now they've expired.)

  5. I was saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Paxton. Such a great actor. I especially loved his earlier work: Weird Science, Alien, and Twister. May he rest in peace.

  6. I was saddened to hear of Paxton's death. He always impressed me as such a likable and nice person, as well as a talented actor. The first role I remember him in was in Apollo 13, a terrific movie. You are right - he was much too young to go.

I wasn't familiar with Bill Paxton but did see some posts annotating his death on Facebook. I'll have to see if i can listen to the songs on my phone since my sound isn't working here.it is a shame about his death. Thanks for sharing.
