Beautiful Korean Dogwood |
So fortunate that Cutler Botanic Gardens is right next to the market, although parking can get a bit tight. The roses are finally opening up and I hope to have some pictures for you later this week.
Peas are finally in season.
Beautiful display.
It's strawberry time. It's been a long wait! Doesn't the display of strawberries seem to stretch on forever?
Visions of strawberry shortcake are dancing in my head - now to find a low calorie version.
Someone is still picking asparagus.
What is your favorite strawberry recipe?
I bought local strawberries at our farm market this morning! We'll be having a light dinner tonight, followed by dinner-sized servings of strawberry shortcake with homemade biscuits and REAL whipped cream! One of my favorite days of the year!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, sounds delicious. Especially "real whipped cream".
DeleteI adore the farmer's market this time of year. Such great produce.
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteLove love love farmers markets! Everything always looks so delicsious. I find it so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. Looks like you could pick the berries right off the page.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat!
DeleteI love going, whether I buy anything or not.
DeleteI have a chocolate angel food cake in the oven that I am serving tomorrow along with strawberries and cream. Yum!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a favorite recipe with strawberries. I usually just eat them like that. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSome lovely clicks! Thank you for sharing.
Farmer's Markets inspire me to get out of the cooking, or non cooking rut, I may be in at the moment. I find that living alone, I don't cook for myself like I did when there was someone else here.
ReplyDeleteThe strawberries have been around here for a bit longer than that. The strawberry stands open in February or March, and I'm told that's normal. (I don't particularly like strawberries, so I don't really notice.)
ReplyDeleteOh my you have me drooling at such fresh and exotic bounty- strawberries and asparagues making me go weak in my knees - I am so full of envy right now. So what did you pick and what did you make out of it?
