Ithaca, New York is a college town in the Finger Lakes region of New York.
On the first weekend in June, Ithaca holds a festival called the Ithaca Festival, held in various areas, including the downtown Commons.
Home Dairy Alley.
A decorative hanging.
The downtown Commons, where many gathered to see music performances, shop for crafts, and eat.
Finally, the Cayuga Creamery, north of Ithaca on Cayuga Lake, one of (in my humble opinion) the best ice cream parlors in upstate New York.

Without once mentioning the two colleges in town...
ReplyDeleteOK, OK. Cornell and Ithaca College. There was a Cornell store not far from the first picture but I couldn't resist a picture of the alley instead.
DeleteLove the Creamery! Love Ithaca, too, even though Cornell did not accept my son! Their loss!
ReplyDeleteIthaca has to be an ice cream capitol of sorts - Purity, the Cornell Dairy (although I don't like the modern location as much as the old one) and, although it isn't in Ithaca, the Cayuga Creamery.
DeleteGorgeous day for a festival, the sky looks so blue, making the pictures look so crisp.
ReplyDeleteIt was so low in humidity that day. I miss it now. Ick!
DeleteOooh, ice cream parlor...
ReplyDeleteIt's good ice cream, too, Liz. Keep it in mind if you ever visit the NY Finger Lakes.
DeleteLoving the shots of the blue skies with gauzy white clouds floating on them!!! Sounds like a fun festival too!!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun!
DeleteI love the big ice cream cone against the pretty sky!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful ice cream, too. Maybe it's a good thing it isn't around the corner from me.
DeleteSounds like a fun festival.
ReplyDeleteIt was, Lady Fi.
DeleteBeautiful blue skies, just the kind that lifts up the spirits on a gloomy day as we are having here today. Glad to know you had a wonderful day at the Ithaca Festival. Happy weekend to you. :)
ReplyDeleteSame to you, Esha. I enjoyed your post about trees so much.
