Late July Colors

Every season has its colors.

These are the colors of late July.
Red and white (peaches), the first of the season. These come from a sate a little south of us; they are hard to grow where I live.
Green.
Orange beets and purple, white and orange carrots.

By themselves, the yellow, purple and orange carrots.

And the white of garlic.

We are reachng our peak of produce and yet, nature is showing us coming attractions of the next seasonal change.

The early goldenrod is blooming. (I wasn't able to get a picture in the car.)

Too soon!  Too soon!

  2. The Jersey peaches and tomatoes finally arrived in our stores. In our NJ opinion, they're the best. The peeps are gonna be making grilled cheese & tomato sammiches as often as they can until the season ends. The Cat isn't happy.

  3. Those peaches make my mouth water. Orange seems to be the predominant color in my backyard this July. Various shades of orange pop out in flowers everywhere.
