It's Monday and it's time for #MusicMovesMe.
Who are the #MusicMovesMe bloggers? We are bloggers who blog about music
each Monday and if you have music to share with us, you are most
welcome to join! (Music Posts Only on this music train, please!) First,
there is XmasDolly. Her chief co-hostess is Cathy of Curious as a Cathy. Her other co-hostesses are Stacy of Stacy Uncorked, and me.
For the month of September our guest hostess is Mary of Jingle Jangle Jungle. Give her a hand!
For today Mary has chosen " In honor of Labor Day, build a playlist
to spell ‘LABOR DAY'.
I tried to find songs that had working as a theme, but so many of them start with "W" that I gave up, although a couple of these are work related - sort of. And, again, I had trouble with the playlist. To play it, click on the three bars at the upper right.
L is for Livin' for the Weekend - The O'Jays
A is for A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles
B is for Bridge over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel
O is for One Night in Bangkok by Murray Head. It's 80's, baby!
R is for Radioactive by Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk may not be everyone's cup of tea (or coffee) but I happen to like several of their songs.
D is for Diamond Eyes, by one of my favorite modern groups, Shinedown. In finding the video, I discovered that many cancer patients use the song as their "fighting song" to encourage them during treatment.
A is for Another Brick in the Wall Parts 1, 2 and 3 by Pink Floyd. This is a long one so you are excused if you leave early.
Y (last but not least) is for You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling by The Righteous Brothers.
And...it's a wrap!
Come back again next week, same time same place!
Welcome! I hope I bring a spot of calm and happiness into these uncertain times. I blog about flowers, gardening, my photography adventures, the importance of chocolate in a well lived life, or anything else on my mind.

...and now I am humming all those songs, smiles.
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for sharing. Great playlist. I’d never heard Diamond Eyes before
ReplyDeleteYour definition of Labor and mine are worlds apart. Bridge Over Troubled Water and labor? You've lost that loving feeling?
ReplyDeleteHappy Labor Day.
(I do love Radioactive, Bridge Over, and Hard Day's Night. I boycott the Floyd nowadays (retribution is a bitch.)
"One Night In Bangkok" is the only song worth listening to on that entire "Chess" album, and it's a great song. I'm glad you got "Livin' For The Weekend" and "A Hard Day's Nigh" in there. Everything else is great!
ReplyDeleteVery nice playist. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteNice setlist! Lots that I didn't even think of and many that I hadn't heard of in a long time. Thanks for playing along! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou ROCK Girlfriend, Woo Hoo! I'm cookin' and listening to tunes and watching the Cubs... busy busy.. Okay, my favorite here is your "One night in Bangkok!! Luvin' that one and wow you have some cool ones here okay time to turn up the speakers so I can listen to yours too! HAPPY LABOR DAY! OH MY GOSH YOU HAVE THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS TOO! THAT'S SUPER! Hugs....
ReplyDeleteLots of great songs there. I remember A, B, Y, and A* very well.
ReplyDeleteAlana,
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with mewsic and purrsonally I think it's cool to make the theme work for you. Sometimes it's difficult but really it's all about the fun as well as making it your own, so as long as there's mewsic that's all that matter to me. Themes are a good way to help guide us but where one's creative leads is where the magic happens. I'm love your playlist I listed to it while catching up with non-4mers and doing some stuff in the kitchen this morning. Have a great week!
