This week, it has felt just like summer, with high temperatures in the 70's and 80's F (yesterday, for example, we reached 82F (27.7 C) where I live.
But you can't fool Mother Nature, and she is sprinkling signs of fall everywhere we look. These are her colors, bright gold, orange, green, white, you name it.
You see it in this sassafras branch.
In these gourds.
You see it in the gold of a stand of trees.
Except some trees haven't gotten the memo yet.
More gourds.
From my backyard, two fall bloomers. First, toad lilies.
Finally, Japanese anemones during the golden hour. In fall, even the golden hour seems somehow more golden.
Enjoy it while we can because we know what comes next.
A coming attraction.
It’s definitely fall.
ReplyDelete...I love winter, but I'm happily enjoying fall.
ReplyDeleteNot only has it been hot but the humidity is ridiculous. Above 95 most mornings.
ReplyDeleteYou are ahead of us quite a bit. Some of the trees are "thinking" about turning color but have not done so yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's even beginning to feel/look a bit like fall here in the humid South!
ReplyDeleteThe trees, the fruits are looking fabulous
ReplyDeleteIt's fall. We usually have a last blast of heat (like we did today) that can turn into wildfires at this time of year. Enjoy your heat while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteLovely autumn photos ~ we are late with the foliage in MA ~ thanks for your gorgeous photos ~
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
