Sunset with the Geese #SkywatchFriday

January 15.  After work, spouse and I went down to the park.  It looked like we had a chance at a sunset after day after day of dreary weather.

It was cold and my hands weren't happy when I took my gloves off, but the sunset showed promise.

We walked along the river as the sun set.

Not sure if you can see them, but I paused to take pictures of icicles on the bottom of the photo.

Back to the sunset.

Good night, sun.
We watched silently with the geese.
I adjusted the exposure so the geese were more visible.

Nighty-night.

  2. Cold hands? You know there are gloves that you can text (and I assume take pictures) while wearing. Nice that you got a good sunset after such dreary weather.

  4. I love that first picture, the sky almost looks like the clouds are pleated.

  5. Have been hearing a lot of geese lately. Not sure if they're coming or going. We're pretty cold here. Beautiful pictures.

  7. Kudos to you for getting out when it looks so bone chilling cold. I can identify with cold fingers when trying to take photos. You were suffering for your art.

And they are nice photos by the way.

  9. That river shot reminds me of some extraordinarily cold hikes I used to take along a similar river bank.
