Fantastic Fall - The I Hate Winter Club

I hate winter.  That must be why I live on the edge of the snowbelt of upstate New York.

It's time for snow.
On the calendar, it is still fall.  But look outside and it is winter.

If there was an "I hate winter" club, I wouldn't be the only member.

Even if it looks good on rhodedendrons.

Then, tonight, the really cold weather arrives.

I am not looking forward to it.  But, at least, tomorrow is Garden Bloggers Bloom Day.  Such as it may be this month for me.

Come back tomorrow, and see what is blooming in my house.

  1. It's thirteen degrees outside. You can be club president and I'll be your number 2.

  2. Ah, yes. Memories of life in Cambridge and Ann Arbor.
But, to be honest, life in Long Beach at Christmas was just as jarring- with the tree, lights, and 70 degree weather.

  4. We are in the same boat. It's still Fall, yet there is snow everywhere. And we actually rarely ever get snow, so it's been tough!

  5. Here in Grand Island, it is snowing! It looks pretty but, for sure, I'm not going anywhere, which is good because most everything is getting canceled.

  6. I hate the freezing cold and the snow, but I sure do love your pictures of it. Maybe I just like to appreciate it from afar.

  7. Snow in Maine and New Hampshire, too. I specifically drove from Maine to NH on Sunday to get ahead of the Monday-Tuesday snowstorm, because my third granddaughter is due this week. Still waiting, and now there is an arctic blast due over the next couple of days.

  8. It's been a running joke for years. January 1st. The Rose Parade. Oh no, the weather's good! Suddenly everyone's going to move out here! (For some reason, it seems to always be so sunny on the 1st. At the moment, however, it's gloomy. We're expecting rain tomorrow.)

  12. I love the snow...what I mean is, I would love to see the snow! I enjoy seeing pictures of it and imagining roaring fireplaces and mulled wine. I've never lived anywhere that cold though! And Delhi winters (sans snow) do me in!
