I hate winter. That must be why I live on the edge of the snowbelt of upstate New York.
It's time for snow.
On the calendar, it is still fall. But look outside and it is winter.
If there was an "I hate winter" club, I wouldn't be the only member.
Even if it looks good on rhodedendrons.
Then, tonight, the really cold weather arrives.
I am not looking forward to it. But, at least, tomorrow is Garden Bloggers Bloom Day. Such as it may be this month for me.
Come back tomorrow, and see what is blooming in my house.
Welcome! I hope I bring a spot of calm and happiness into these uncertain times. I blog about flowers, gardening, my photography adventures, the importance of chocolate in a well lived life, or anything else on my mind.

It's thirteen degrees outside. You can be club president and I'll be your number 2.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes. Memories of life in Cambridge and Ann Arbor.
ReplyDeleteBut, to be honest, life in Long Beach at Christmas was just as jarring- with the tree, lights, and 70 degree weather.
Does any of us who lives in Northern part of United States deserves this cold...My vote is "No" but it to cold here to snow. Which means no snow removal.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
We are in the same boat. It's still Fall, yet there is snow everywhere. And we actually rarely ever get snow, so it's been tough!
ReplyDeleteHere in Grand Island, it is snowing! It looks pretty but, for sure, I'm not going anywhere, which is good because most everything is getting canceled.
ReplyDeleteI hate the freezing cold and the snow, but I sure do love your pictures of it. Maybe I just like to appreciate it from afar.
ReplyDeleteSnow in Maine and New Hampshire, too. I specifically drove from Maine to NH on Sunday to get ahead of the Monday-Tuesday snowstorm, because my third granddaughter is due this week. Still waiting, and now there is an arctic blast due over the next couple of days.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a running joke for years. January 1st. The Rose Parade. Oh no, the weather's good! Suddenly everyone's going to move out here! (For some reason, it seems to always be so sunny on the 1st. At the moment, however, it's gloomy. We're expecting rain tomorrow.)
ReplyDeleteWinter in most parts of india is much awaited... I like winters here... The sole respite from almost the year round summer....
ReplyDeleteI have never seen snow... so you can imagine how absolutely I loved these pictures. Wish I could see it in real :D
ReplyDeleteIn Chhattisgarh - a state in Central India snow is a very far call, I love pics and movies that show snow, so you know how much I have been ogling on the above pics

I love the snow...what I mean is, I would love to see the snow! I enjoy seeing pictures of it and imagining roaring fireplaces and mulled wine. I've never lived anywhere that cold though! And Delhi winters (sans snow) do me in!
