Early Fall Color #ThursdayTreeLove

Now, sleep time awaits
Trees showing their true colors
As winter draws close

I took these pictures, where I live in upstate New York, on September 17.
Then, a record heat wave hit.  Not much new color since then.  But, as they said in the old days, "stay tuned".  Today, weather will become a lot more seasonable.

Brrr.

Please join me and other bloggers in celebrating trees at #ThursdayTreeLove, hosted by Parul Thakur.

  1. And, now, finally the "unseasonably high temperatures" has been chased away by the remnants of two hurricanes. Dropping to "seasonably high temperatures"- and with much lower humidity!

  5. Beautiful!

I thought we would be having a spectacular Fall here in NYC because everything was so green and lush from our soggy soggy summer - but now it's been dry and so hot and this morning I was noticing that Foster Avenue was already covered with dead leaves when the trees have only the slightest hints of early color. We'll see how it works out...

  7. Thank you thank you. Miss these bursts of joy. We don't get much color in Southern California. Beth

  9. Always look forward to your beautiful Fall colors. It will be a slow turning in Texas for falling leaves. We have had most of the week with rain. Need it, but it prolongs fall for us.

  10. You are a few weeks ahead of us. We had one day of kind of cool weather and now we have the air conditioners back on.

  11. The trees are lovely! One day I would like to experience a New England autumn to see the foliage. The foliage turns later here in KY and in WV (where I'm from) and it doesn't seem as vibrant as what New England seems to get. Right now, as I gaze out my window into my back yard, the leaves are still green and none have fallen.

  12. I would love to see the Fall colors some day. These pictures of trees are breath taking and if this is early fall how gorgeous would fall be? Thank you Alana for joining. The linky would go live this week. :)

  13. I've just returned from NJ and was disappointed with the Fall colours - most trees went straight to leafless without changing colour at all. Lucky you to have seen some....

  14. Here in Colorado, leaves started to change but a snow storm spoiled the beauty. Now, a few trees changed to red whereas leaves fell for many other trees.
