On May 1, our area experienced localized flooding. This local park has flooded a lot worse, but it made for some interesting sights.
Let's check it out.
This picnic has been cancelled.
Later in the week, clouds gathered again, but the flooding was done.
By May 5, mud on the paths it had dried and left interesting patterns. For a few weeks, this mud will be hazardous for walking if it's wet.

ReplyDeleteNot every year, but it does flood frequently enough. The park is a low spot and is adjacent to a river.

ReplyDeleteSo far, my little corner of Michigan has escaped the heavy rain. We've been lucky. Others, not so much.

ReplyDeleteNot every year, but it does flood frequently enough. It's along where a local creek meets up with the Susquehanna River and is a low spot - probably that's the reason why it's a park and not used for houses.

ReplyDeleteThe Susquehanna in spring always made me nervous as a child. It’s always a relief when the flooding is minimal — but no way to predict it! These photos brought back some of those memories.
