Longing for the Sun #MusicMovesMe

It's Monday and it's time for music!

Today I am joining up with other Music Moves Me bloggers (and you can join us at the linky above). We are a group of music loving bloggers who blog about music each Sunday or Monday (or even later in the week). If you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please! Otherwise, your post link may be labeled "No Music" or even removed.

Our head host is Xmas Dolly, and our co-hosts are Cathy from Curious as a Cathy, joined by the knowledgeable Stacy of Stacy Uncorked and, last but not least, me.

Every other week we have a theme.  This week's theme is "Freedom of Choice-You Pick".

At this time of year, where I live, we wish for the sun.  Oh, sometimes we get sun but it is almost always teamed with colder than usual weather.

But maybe I can summon the sun with music.  Let's try.

The Beatles - Here Comes the Sun.

a-ha:  The Sun Always Shines on TV, from 1985.   How I love this song.

From 1964, We'll Sing in the Sunshine - Gale Garnett

Elton John's 1974 hit  Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me.  I've chosen a live version duet with George Michael.

One more - 1969's Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In (The Flesh Failures), as the Fifth Dimension covers songs fro the musical Hair.

Did I succeed in summoning the sun? Only time will tell.

Come on, sun.  Come on, spring!

And that's a wrap!

Join me again next week for another episode of Music Moves Me.

  2. Thanks for the sunny break! 🌞 This is a miserable time of year, for sure. It snowed all weekend, here. Worst storm in years! The sun is shining today, but like you said, it's much colder than usual. At least February is more than half over.

  6. We had some sun yesterday but it was chilly. Today, it's gray again. BLAH! I love your music theme! I can almost feel the warmth of the sun on my face. :) "Here Comes the Sun" is such a cheery song. It's been a long time that I've heard "We'll Sing In The Sunshine". "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" is a great song! You really knocked it out of the park finishing up with The Fifth Dimension's medley. Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me and have a boogietastic week, Alana! xo

  7. These are great! Love the last one and needed since we got about 1 1/2 ft of snow on the weekend. I thought of the song, " Let the Sunshine in" sung by Pebbles and Bam Bam from The Flintstones

  8. Good playlist! There's also "Waiting For The Sun" by the Doors, "Seasons In The Sun" by Terry Jacks, and "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" by The Walker Brothers.
