This first Friday of October, I am being hit by a wave of nostalgia.
One thing climate change has produced in our part of upstate New York is a lessening of the fall colors. I miss those falls. This year, our color is also endangered by a blight that has hit maples, killing their leaves prematurely.
But, I found some trees turning in a supermarket parking lot yesterday afternoon. Too bad that the clouds fascinated me even more. I could have adjusted the color to make the trees stand out but I so loved the color of that sky.
At least, sunsets are still sunsets.
And now, for my nostalgia fix - October 26, 2012. But then, I tell myself, it's still the beginning of October. There's still time for more color.

Lovely shots. Here's hoping for more colour!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen much color beauty down here in the south, either, but then again, our weather is still summer-like. As for climate change, yes! It's amazing what people will argue to keep with an agenda paid for by companies that don't want regulations thrust on them . . . but I'm getting too political.
ReplyDeleteOur colours were just starting. Then we got snow and cold and all the leaves just look like limp spinach. Sigh. I didn't realize climate change was making such a profound impact on our beloved autumn. :(
ReplyDeleteI love Autumn colours too. I'm still waiting for the riot of colour as there is still a lot of green here. The Russian vine is a stunning red though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :-)

Beautiful photographs! It's so sad that summer is over but there are beautiful trees and sunsets still to experience.
ReplyDeleteIt's heartbreaking to see nature's beauty diminished
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies, and the tree from 2012 is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe are hoping to have good Autumn color here in Mississippi, but if the weather stays dry, the leaves will just die and turn brown.
Have a wonderful week-end!
Hello again!
ReplyDeleteI just looked back at some of my photos, and 2012 was a good year for Autumn leaf color here, too.
Beautiful tree - I remember the upstate New York colors from the years I spent up there.
ReplyDeleteHi Alana,
ReplyDeleteI love autumn too. I think it's as you said, being affected by global warming. My mother loved the fall too so I miss her.
Thanks for a nice post.

Beautiful sky shots! Seems like trees are having problems all over. Lots of our S CA trees are dying. Heard recently even the iconic palm trees that line many of our most famous roads are dying.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Don't see so many colour changes here in NZ where I live but have seen a NY fall and it is amazing. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteOur fall weather been the bomb.
ReplyDeletevery beautiful. North east in fall is everything!
ReplyDeleteWow! The skies look beautiful! Here its been raining all the time so I'm just greeted with grey skies all the time!
ReplyDeleteThat sky is stunning.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sky shots. That's one thing I miss from England, the beautiful fall colors. Here in Arizona, at the sight of a slight yellow shade we yell, oh fall is here. :)
ReplyDeletefall colors are my favorite too
