Hot Weather #MusicMovesMe #blogboost

It's Monday and it's time for music!
Who are the #MusicMovesMe bloggers? We are bloggers who blog about music each Monday and if you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only,  please! Non-music posts are subject to removal or labeling as "No Music".)   First, there is XmasDolly.  Her chief co-conductor is Cathy of Curious as a Cathy. Her other co-conductors are Stacy of Stacy Uncorked, and me.

This month our guest conductor will be Songbird from Songbird's Crazy World.  This week Songbird is letting us pick our own theme.

I originally was going to feature songs mentioning the word "hot" or with "hot" or "heat" in the title:  hot weather, or a different kind of hotness, but we have lost still another rock great, "Ginger" Baker of Cream and Blind Faith, among other musical projects he participated in during his 80 years.

Although this Cream song doesn't highlight his drumming as much as some others, it is one of my favorite Cream songs (and it was co written by George Harrison and Eric Clapton, so it was meant to be great):  Badge.  This is such an incredible song I just had to put this in here (I did my RIP to Baker yesterday, if you want an example of the greatness of his drumming.)

And now I think about hotness, now that summer has finally left us here in New York State.

Summer in the City - The Lovin' Spoonful

Heat of the Night - Bryan Adams

Ella Fitzgerald - Steam Heat

Heatwave - Martha and the Vandellas

Hot Stuff - Donna Summer

So this is a nice warm wrap - see you next Monday, same time, same place.

Day 7 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge #blogboost.

  8. Fall has finally fell into NW Arkansas. Here it is Oct 7 and I'm still mowing the lawn. That's just wrong on so many levels. Cream was a Super-Group before most people knew what the term meant. While Ginger Baker was rock drumming legend, he was often his own worst enemy and both Cream and Blind Faith fell apart because of his cantankerous personality. Not that Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce didn't contribute to the troubles, but Ginger was a piece of work in the studio.

  9. Alana,

I'm dealing with a Mucinex DM hang over this morning and I can barely focus, so bear with me please. DH made a special trip out on Sunday to get me something to keep the congestion from going into my chest and I asked him will it make me drowsy. He looked at the label and couldn't find it saying anything about so I took one. I really didn't think anything of it, got up yesterday all dizzy etc and it wasn't until last night that I made the connection AFTER I took another Mucinex DM tablet. I do not like this feeling and if I can keep from it, I won't take another this evening.

I notice Mike did a fanfare to Cream's drummer but I must have missed that the passed. "Badge" is one of their songs I didn't know until now but it it's nice. There was a lot of great mewsic that spanned from the 60s-80s. The talent was just phenomenual and now that talent is slowly beginning to vanish every day, every month that passes as these legends age.

Your song set of songs featuring 'hot' is sizzling! Hopefully you guys are getting some cooler weather now. We are much to our satisfaction. It dipped down into the upper 50s over night and by this weekend I think the forecasters are calling for the low 40s at night. I'm going to have to get my sweats out.
Thanks for co-hosting right alongside me darling, have a boogietastic week!
