Groundhog Day#WordlessWednesday

It's February 2 and, sometime this morning, we'll find out if we are going to have six more weeks of winter, or an early spring.  That is, if you believe that a groundhog can predict the weather.

This is a groundhog.  Whatever you say, please don't tell me that groundhogs are cute.  Each year, they manage to destroy one or more things spouse or I are trying to grow. Ditto for other gardeners.  That may be one reason why they are so plump.

If you want to find out more about Groundhog Day, you are welcome to read this post from 2017.

And oh, the groundhog saw its shadow. Six weeks more of winter!

  2. Alana,

Is that one of Phil's cousins running around there? We have Grady Groundhog who lives in the wooded area behind our house. Sometimes, he'll come down into the yard. Our security cameras have picked him up and one year I was able to snap a photo of him but haven't been lucky since that time. Here's to six more weeks of winter! Happy Groundhog Day!! XO

  4. The one day this pesky little rodent is more than pesky. Except when he gives us what he gave us today. Sigh.

  9. Groundhogs have probably occupied that land for generations and the fact that it is now your garden does not stop them from using it.
