We have our typical winter sky where I live in the Southern Tier of New York now. Lots of gloom, lots of white.
Wish I could remove that pole from the picture above. In this picture taken later December 4, you can see how green our grass still is. And, no snow on the ground! (We have a small amount of snow now). Too bad I had to take this picture from the car. That outbuilding in Maine, New York is one of my favorite structures in this area.
But sometimes, the sky shines through, as it did later on December 4.
On December 6, I missed the tail end of what must have been a lovely sunrise. This isn't facing east, but was where the sky looked purple.
Noontime.
By late afternoon, the gloom had settled back in, as it does in December.
I'll end with a photo of downtown Binghamton, New York taken December 19, 2018. Yes, sometimes, we really do have nice December skies here.

...I have seen and photograph that neat barn in Maine.
ReplyDeleteOur skies are often gloomy here along the Gulf Coast of Texas at this time of year. It's been in the low 80s the last couple of days and that's too warm. I'm looking forward to cooler weather arriving tonight. Maybe you will get more snow, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the beauty and variety of the ever-changing skies! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely December skies here. No snow yet but we're expecting a possible first snow today. Our sky sure looks like it.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, a nice assortment of skies. The building with the flag on the side is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty building!!
ReplyDeleteClear sky in North Idaho in winter usually means colder temps.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteNice when you get some blue, but it's winter, so gloom is understandable.
